Decisions

How many times in life have you felt a decision about something has to be made but you keep putting it off weighing the +'s and the -'s until you're stuck in limbo? I have been in that mode for several months now. Weighing the pros and cons of FaceBook. What pushed me to delete my account and leave them was actually a random survey that popped up one day while I was surfing. The questions they asked dealt with everything from "did I feel the site was secure" and "did I feel my information was secure with them" to what, when and how did I use Facebook and to what benefit was it to me, my friends, family, business, etc.

So many of my responses were in the negative that I began to wonder just what benefit is FB to my life. At one time it was a great resource for keeping in touch with artist friends across the country, communicating with family and long time friends from school days, and becoming a part of art groups with common interests. However, this year my life and location have changed and I found myself just skimming the surface of FB posts not really interacting with the community and not taking the time to read others comments before posting.

No decision really. Just a finality to a long process. Why have I shared this today...well, some of you may be in the same place I found myself. Wondering if something in your life is really of benefit. Creativity is a gift...I had forgotten to treasure it, nourish it, and keep things which are of no benefit at bay.

My daughter said it best, "Mom, welcome to FB freedom!"
